Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics

Clinical Trials and Development of Personalized Pharmacotherapy

The Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics of CHA Bundang Medical Center supports a variety of medical activities on clinical test and personalized pharmacotherapy through clinical pharmacology research, training and treatment. As a core member of the Clinical Trials Center in CBMC, we conducts early phase clinical trials, focuses on clinical drug development, while counseling on clinical pharmacology research. Main mission of the Department also includes pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics analysis, clinical trials simulation and education of professional personnel in clinical trials.

Analysis of Individual Drug Response through Clinical Drug Research

The staff of the Department utilizes basic medical science such as clinical pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, genetics, pharmacology, biochemistry, biostatistics and analytical chemistry and Omics methodology including pharmacogenomics and metabolomics for optimized pharmacotherapy, which permits comprehensive research on clinical medicine. In addition, the staff carries out clinical evaluation of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics to more precisely focus on drug response differences based on individual genetic diversity. The scope of clinical pharmacology and therapeutics includes extensive drug data development process that is eventually applied for patients through pharmacotherapeutic counseling.

At the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics of CBMC, a team of specialists educate and nurture highly skilled workforce in clinical drug development and pharmacotherapy thus getting one step closer to realizing development of new drug and customized pharmacotherapy.
