Medical Staff with Extensive Experience and Skill in Urological Treatment

The Department of Female Urology in CBMC is located in CHA Bundang Women’s medical center for the convenience of patients. The staff treats female urological problems (urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, cystitis, interstitial cystitis, neurogenic bladder, pelvic pain, bladder and urethra issues as well as male infertility conditions (azoospermia, chromosomal anomalies, varicocele and semen cryopreservation).

A Team of World-renowned Medical Staff

Female urological problems require remedies by highly skilled specialists with extensive clinical experiences as the treatment of complex organs, pelvis and their functional issues often need multi-faceted approach. Professor Jae- yup Hong is a leader in the treatment of female urological disorders and male infertility in Korea. Professor Hong served as an Asian representative of International Urogynecological Association (IUGA), gaining reputation for his exceptional academic achievement in the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU) and Korean Society for Reproductive Medicine (KSFS). Professor Kyung hwa Choi made a name for herself with her extensive academic achievement in basic research on stem cell therapy in Urologic disease and renal cell carcinoma in Kroea and abroad. As one of the few female urologists in Korea, Professor Choi helped female patients receive systematic urological treatment in a more comfortable environment than ever before.

Extensive Clinical research

The Department is steadily involved in clinical research on female dysuria and preservation of male fertility, applying the latest clinical treatment. The clinical team recently confirmed the efficacy of stem cell treatment for interstitial cystitis, a type of incurable disorder, in animal experiment and presented our academic achievement at symposiums in US and Europe. The team will continue to be a leader in developing new treatment methods for incurable diseases based on our research progress.

Comfortable Treatment at Women-only Ward

To optimize treatment for the women with dysuria, medical care is delivered at women-only ward. The staff members for examination and after-treatment are all women, providing the most comfortable and relaxed environment for medical care.
